Frontend Setup

npm install

The frontend runs on port 5173 by default (Vite dev server).

Build for production:

npm run build

API Endpoints

All endpoints are prefixed with /api. Protected endpoints require a Bearer token in the Authorization header.

Health

GET /api/health

Returns server status. No authentication required.

Authentication

POST /api/auth/register

Create a new user account.

Clients (Protected)

GET /api/clients

List all clients for the authenticated user.

POST /api/clients

Create a new client.

GET /api/invoices

List all invoices for the authenticated user.

Create a new invoice.

PUT /api/invoices/:id

Update an invoice (status, line items, due date, etc.).

DELETE /api/invoices/:id

Delete an invoice by ID.

GET /api/invoices/:id/pdf

Download invoice as PDF.

User Workflow

1. Register — Create account with email, password, and name
2. Login — Authenticate to receive JWT token
3. Add Clients — Create client records before invoicing
4. Create Invoices — Select client, add line items, set due date
5. Track Status — Move invoices through draft → sent → paid/overdue
6. Export PDF — Download invoice documents for sharing or archiving
7. Logout — Clear session and return to login

This Express backend / api completed archive review with strong static results. Structure, dependency manifests, documentation, functional source, and common risk patterns were checked by the Tetrees verification pipeline; runtime phases are stated separately.
